The Lewis Family

This shoot was definitely a cold one, but all four of this beautiful family did wonderful. We went to the Hall of Springs in Saratoga Springs, NY in the morning, last Saturday. The arches and outdoor architecture served as a perfect shaded area to give us some even lighting against the harsh 10 o’clock sun, but also was such a beautiful backdrop! The archways gave me a perfect opportunity to frame the family and create something more visually captivating. Between each shot, the kids ran to get wrapped up in a blanket and put their coats on. Its crazy how cold it actually was, but if I didn’t tell you, it would be almost impossible to tell. Thanks for another incredible family portrait session this year! I am beyond grateful for the amount of people i’ve been blessed to work with and i’m excited for many more!

the zientak family

Yet again, another cold family shoot that turned out beautiful! These 4 quirky humans really knew how to laugh and humor me with all of my ideas! I thought it was really cool that they had a memory with their family at Lake George’s “famous” tree at Battle Field Park. Apparently, David had jumped out of the tree while playing in it when he was younger and they remembered that day since. Because of this, the family wanted to snap some shots with the legendary tree. I love a good story behind a photo! Despite the cold, we still got some great shots and and I don’t regret telling everyone to take their coats off for the final shots. Whats a few minutes of cold compared to photographs you will enjoy forever!

Shelby and Tim

IMG_0730.jpg

What a cute idea to get photos done as a Christmas present for their parents! Shelby and Tim are siblings, she is 19 and he is 17! What better of a present than to have great memories and moments captured together for their family?! I loved being able to do this shoot for so many reasons. These two were so fun to work with. They were very easy going and were really easy to make laugh or smile. Also, not many people want an urban look to family portraits or portraits in general. A very popular location is a field, garden, or body of water. When Shelby had told me they were down for a more city feel to their shoot I was beyond excited. It’s not too often I get to shoot those. We went to downtown Glensfalls and wandered down some back streets while it started to snow. This was one of the coldest shoots so far this year. Within about 15 minutes my hands were already red and we were all pretty cold, but you can’t even tell in the photos. I love taking photos with snow, minus the cold because look how pretty!!!! We also headed over to a parking garage that I have shot at several times before. You just can’t beat the views up there! Thank you Tim and Shelby for sticking through the wind and the cold with me and I hope you both are very warm now. Enjoy your photos this holiday season!
