Born Dead

Spooky season is coming to close and Halloween is right around the corner! Who’s ready for some darker shots than usual!!

Near the end of summer, Emily approached me and asked to do a shoot to promote herself as a new Ambassador with Born Dead Clothing. She wanted to take some photos of her wearing their clothing to post on social media. I was so excited to do this because I love being able to create content, not only for my own social platforms, but for clients aswel. I also knew that Emily has more of a dark, witchy vibe and so does the clothing company, so what better than to post these for halloween. I love being able to take moody portraits every once in a while because that’s where my inspiration for photography started out. Lets indulge in the darker side with a little bit of a twist. Happy Halloween everyone.

Also feel free to drop by borndeadclothingco.com for more clothes like the shirt Emily is wearing and use her code Georgiaroseee__ for 10% off your order! (#notsponsered)

5 Tips On How To Take A Better Photo

Here’s a little video that I put together on how to take a better photo. I mainly focus on portraits but these tips can be applied to any photo. Thank you so much to Johanna for modeling most of these photos and a few videos. Here are the tips that I will cover in the video but you’ll have to watch it to hear the explanations:

  1. Lighting

  2. Triangles

  3. Frame Within A Frame

  4. Leading Lines

  5. Rule Of Thirds

I wish the day that we shot these was less cloudy because I was hoping for some direct golden hour light, but we worked with the even lighting from the overcast sky just fine! Also this day was one of the fall days that was warm but got cold as the sun went down, so thank you to Johanna for enduring the chilliness :) Thanks again to everyone reading this for stopping by this blog once again. Please enjoy these tips and this video and remember them the next time you’re shooting or even just taking a photo for Instagram!

At least one of these tips are used in each of these images! Watch the video up top to learn more!

Fall Mini Sessions

Last weekend we had our fall mini shoots and the weather was perfect! I was so happy that there weren’t any harsh winds or cold frosts lingering around. The sun was out and we were definitely able to experience true fall weather. I was also absolutely in love with the colors and I hope you are too!

Meet Paige and Brandon! They were so fun to work with. I love being able to take photos of couples because I love showing the views their connection with each other. Paige and Brandon had told me the had been together for 2 years and what better of a time to get beautiful photos together. Some of my favorite moments was when I was able to capture a real smile or a real feeling between the two!

Next we have Josh, Liz, and baby Wyatt! Just look at this beautiful family. despite the little struggles with baby spit up and getting positions just right, everything went pretty smoothly. I loved how go with the flow Josh and Liz were and Wyatt was literally so cute. He was so smiley and his eyes are beautifully blue. This crew was so fun to work with and thanks for the many laughs you guys!

Alyssa, Megan, and Makenzie were all extremely beautiful inside and out! Not to mention that 3 people in a group for pictures are perfect, but their personality and outer beauty just topped it off as well. We were fighting the sun a little because it was so early in the day. but we were able to get even lighting in the shadows from the trees. Thanks for such a fun experience, ladies! P.S look at how beautiful their eyes are!
