A trip to Boston

Last month my boyfriend and I took a overnight trip to Boston to go to a Catfish and the Bottlemen concert at the House of Blues. We got there early to hang out with his older sister and we also spent the night at her apartment. Before the concert we walked around the beautiful city and ate lobster mac and cheese. I of course brought my camera, knowing that we would be walking around the city. Here’s some from Boston!

Cole's Senior Shoot

I’ve worked with the Willis family for quite some time now. I began working along side Liz Willis quite literally at O’Toole’s in Queensbury last summer. Ever since I’ve done about 4 photoshoots with their family, starting with fall mini shoots, a family session, photos for their youngest, Wyatt’s 1st birthday, and now photos for their oldest, Cole. I’ve gotten to know Cole a little bit before his senior shoot through doing their family photos. Like many teenage boys, he wasn’t the most thrilled about getting photos done, but his senior shoot was kind of a different story. Since it was more of a one on one setting, besides having my assistant there, it was way more laid back and there was definitely less pressure. Senior shoots are my favorite for that reason because you have a good chunk of time, and there is a lot of creative freedom. It also allows the senior and I to become very comfortable with each other and for them to be even more comfortable in front of the camera.

For Cole’s shoot, we went to downtown Glens Falls, NY. The weather was absolutely perfect. If I had a dime for the amount of times I said, “wow, look at the sky,” you would probably only have about 50 cents, but that’s still a good amount of times to be saying that in an hour. The sunset was incredible, and it was the first golden hour shoot that i’ve done where the sun was out in a very long time, so I was excited. I was super happy to capture Cole’s personally in many of the shots, even though he wasn’t the easiest person to get a real smile out of (which made it even more rewarding when he did smile genuinely). Even in the posing; I tried posing him myself for some of the first few shots, but as time went on he naturally did some perfectly on his own. Cole also is one of the few guys I’ve seen pull off the color yellow so well. It tied in perfectly with the warm lighting and made the shots THAT much better. Over all I’m very excited with how the photos came out, and I’m ready for many more shoots to come this senior season!

Miss Grand New York

Meet Heather Thompson, Miss Grand New York 2019! Heather is one of my favorite models to work with because of how real, relatable, and at the same time, professional she is to work with. Heather is super funny, but also knows all of the right poses and makes my job incredibly easy! When Heather asked me to help her by making a video for her Miss Grand Pageant, I was thrilled. I would not call myself a professional videographer, but I’m still very happy with how it came out! While filming, I couldn’t help but take photos as well, considering that photography is more of a passion for me than video. Here’s some of the photos from this little shoot in Saratoga Springs, NY and Albany, NY.

Also a little behind the scenes info:

While we were in Saratoga, Heather had the idea to buy an ice cream cone for some content regarding b roll. On our way over to the ice cream shop, we saw a homeless man with a sign that asked for food. This is something you will see often in Saratoga so it is very easy to overlook and pass by. Heather and I decided it would be awesome to buy an extra cone for the homeless man on the bench and when we handed him the ice cream, you could see the actual joy and excitement in his eyes! One of the things that I’ve noticed about Heather over the past little bit of working with her is that she is not only beautiful on the outside, but she has one of the most giving and caring souls out there. She is also someone who will risk it for the biscuit and the proof is in the pudding. While we were in Albany, it was at least 90 degrees at noon in the scorching hot sun. We spent about an hour walking around while she wore a black jumpsuit and heels. Through the pain, and HEAT, we both made it through, and you would never know from the photos that we were both dying of heat the entire time.
