Previously, I photographed Liz and Josh Willis with their new baby, Wyatt, during our fall mini sessions. They came back for more and wanted photos with the whole crew this time! Since it was pretty cold out this day, and we didn’t want the baby outside for too long, we decided to choose an indoor location. Thank to the Queensbury Hotel for letting us use their beautiful lobby. Of course their were a couple challenges since this wasn’t our own private space. At one point 3 bus loads of volleyball players flooded the lobby and we had to shoot in a small corner until they were gone. Despite small issues such as these, everything went very smoothly and we decided to head outside for our final shots. My favorite part was telling the kids for have a snowball fight and finally let loose. Boy, did It put a smile on their faces!

Hasty Page
Last Thursday a local band to Albany NY, Hasty Page, opened for Ripe at The Hollow Bar+Kitchen. I only photographed Hasty Page instead of both bands because I had been wanting to do photos of them for a while and halfway through the show I wanted to put my camera down and enjoy the music fully. I love being able to photograph shows and concerts because music and photography are both huge passions of mine. When going to shows and taking photos, I can enjoy some good tunes and take crispy shots! Although this is literally so fun, When I’m taking photos, I am working to an extent. Always thinking, framing in my head, anticipating each next move. When I put down my camera I can completely let loose and end the night while just purely enjoying the music.
Hasty Page was amazing live and I loved the energy they put forth. Josh(drums and vocals), James(bass and vocals), and Zane(guitar and vocals) all seemed really in sync and interacted with the crowd on multiple levels. Next time you’re out looking for a good time, check out what shows they have lined up and ACTUALLY GO! (also check out Ripe because they know how to make a crowd dance!)
