A secret waterfall in the woods

Aleigha and her mom had the best idea for a senior shoot location! Hidden away in the woods in Corinth, New York there's a beautiful waterfall owned by ADK Waterfall Events! The is a very new venue used for weddings and other types of photo shoots and events! I was so thrilled when Aleigha and her mom introduced me to this location. Having never been there before and only seeing a few photos on their Instagram page, I didn't really know what to expect. Yes, there was a waterfall but I wasn't expecting the rest of the landscape including the woods, rocks and creek around the falls. There's a beautiful bridge and a platform looking over the whole scene as well. My favorite part of this adventure was the ending where Aleigha got into the water and swam you to the waterfall! I loved working with Aliegha's amazing mom who was always willing to lend a head where it was needed and the both of them were super laid back and fun! Thanks for making some beautiful portraits of a gorgeous girl!

Sunflowers for a Sun Child

IMG_4247.jpg

This senior shoot was probably the most interesting because of the length of time I spent to do this. Meet, Selah, or as I like to call her, Sun Child. She has a soul that can brighten your day in a second and you can always see it in her smile. This girl has an old soul and she loves the art of music and the adventures of life. Selah and I went on a journey to a sunflower field about 3.5 hours away. I could see the anticipation in her eyes the whole ride there because she's been dreaming of doing her senior shoot with sunflowers for years now. "Go big or Go home," well we went big and it was worth it. Thank you to Fredrick Farms for letting us use your beautiful field that we were in awe of! The sunflowers out shined the weather because of the on and off rain, but the whole outcome couldn't have been more perfect. Check out the behind the scenes video and these gorgeous photos! I still can't believe we traveled this far but the experience is something I'll never forget!

NYC 2018

Its been almost a month since I've made a blog post on here because of the amount of blessings I've had to travel and work with so many amazing families, friends, and seniors this summer! Here's a good amount of photos I took and a little video that I tired to make about when I went to NYC a month ago. These are by no means portraits and I'm not a videographer, but I wanted to try out some new stuff and do some photojournalism while I was in the Big City. Those who know me know that I'm always down for a spontaneous adventure! A coworker of mine asked me to go to a concert with him in the city about three weeks prior and I thought, "what the heck, why not!" I also found it very strange how much I loved taking photos in a fly on the wall setting. I love having a personal connection while I'm taking someones photo, so photojournalism usually doesn't appeal to me. For some reason the city's atmosphere really did appeal to me and I felt entranced in a world of a busy culture and wanted to snap every moment of it. Until next time New York!
