Glitter Everywhere

glitter_26.jpg

Last summer I had an idea to do some kind of model shoot with glitter, but it never happened because I was really busy working, doing senior portraits, and trying to venture out into the world while it was still warm. I tried again to plan something around New Year's, but yet again, something came up in my personal life that stopped me from doing this little something extra. I recently had a couple weeks of down time, so I went through my bucket list of photoshoots that I want to do someday in my phone and remembered that I still hadn't done the glitter one that I've wanted to do for so long. Finally, I planned this shoot, and even though I had some financial stuff come up the week of, I was still determined to get props and everything else we needed. Good thing glitter is cheap right! Anyways, I'm really thankful that the timing worked out the way it did. I was blessed with somewhat warm weather, beautiful lighting, and 2 gorgeous and fun models to work with! Thank you to Jenny Messina and Naomi Bartholomew for having a blast with us and for the willingness to be covered in glitter. Here's another BTS video and some rad pics from this glitterfied shoot!

College Student Tees

IMG_6161.jpg

As some of you may know, I am currently attending SUNY ADK and majoring in Media Arts with a photography concentration. I'm trying to save up some money while I'm here to later transfer to complete either a BA or BFA degree. Last semester, I had a 2D design class with a pretty rad guy, Tanner Damico. I've since not had any classes with him, but I still follow him on Instagram. I recently saw a pretty cool project that he was working on as an aspiring artist. He makes really interesting designs and graphics and started putting these on tee shirts to sell.  To me, its super inspiring to see other young artists at work on such amazing projects so I asked him to collaborate on a little project. I wanted to help promote his shirt designs and take some photos of him modeling them. We decided to go to the Shirt Factory in Glensfalls, a perfect location for photographing shirts. The main reason I picked this location was because of the naturally lit hallways and the the plain, but still interesting enough brick and walls. Here's the result of the shoot that day! Also check out Tanner's Instagram, @tannerjdamico and definitely go get some shirts!!!

Shooting/Modeling For Hannah Joy!!!

IMG_6307.jpg

A couple weeks ago, a good friend of mine, Hannah Joy, met with my mom, Becky Collignon, and I at Spot Coffee in Glensfalls for a little chat. She originally just asked to speak with with my mom about photography contract details and how to start, but I tagged along as well. We stayed there for a solid 3 hours talking about anything and everything in the photography and video realm and definitely side tracked a lot from talking about the contract. While we were there, Hannah asked me if I would be willing to model for her because she was getting into taking more photos and would eventually like to start up doing photos as a job. I was super thrilled because I love both taking photos as well as being in them. She also asked me to take some photos of her during the same session and I was also down for that!

The day we met in Saratoga to do photos, it was raining a pretty good amount, so we brought umbrellas to conquer that obstacle, but we still ended up with wet hair and damp, cold clothes. As the two of us switched off, I took pictures of Hannah while she took pictures of me, and we both came out with pretty different photos in the end. Another beautiful example of how similar ideas through the eyes of two artists can create different outcomes. Throughout our adventure, I did a little vlogging and you all get to see the real and raw behind the scenes footage. Please enjoy another video, and to check out Hannah's photos I'll leave a link below. Go show her page some love!!!!
